Petrolina Racing Team secured the top two spots at the East Safari Rally, the opening event of the Pancyprian Rally Championship.

The big winners of the first event of the Pancyprian Rally Championship were last year’s champions Simos Galatariotis and Antonis Ioannou in a Skoda Fabia RS who finished only 29 seconds ahead of the other Petrolina Crew, made up of Alexis Tsouloftas and Antonis Chrysostomou in a Citroen DS3 R5. Panayiotis Yiangou and Constantinos Constantinou, who are still familiarising themselves with their new race car, a Hyundai i20 R5, finished 12th.

The East Safari Rally was organised with great success by the Famagusta Motor Sport Club on the weekend of 10-11 February 2018 in the free Famagusta area and widely seen as impressive, characterised by high speeds, particularly at the ‘Halospytia’ special stage.
